ACT AIRLINES AND IATA OPERATIONAL SAFETY AUDIT (IOSA) PROGRAMME
The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) programme is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognised quality audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardised and consistent manner. It was created in 2003 by IATA. The program is designed to assess the operational management and control systems of airlines. The companies are included in the IOSA registry for a period of 2 years following an audit carried out by an organization accredited by IATA. The auditing standards have been developed in collaboration with various regulatory authorities, such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the USA, Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Transport Canada and the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA). IATA oversees the accreditation of audit organisations, ensure the continuous development of IOSA standards and practices and manages the IOSA registry.
ACT Airlines became Turkey’s first air-cargo operator to be certified by IATA by successfully completing all audits within the scope of IATA’s IOSA program.
Istanbul, Turkey September 1, 2008: In June of 2007, the Directorate General of Turkish Civil Aviation published the Commercial Air Transport Operator Regulation SHY-6A, with a revision which obligated all passenger and cargo operators with scheduled flights to receive IATA IOSA certification within 3 years, at the latest, from the date from which they received their operating license.
ACT Airlines initiated the certification process by reaching an agreement with Parc Aviation which is authorized by IATA as an oversight authority. Following the successful completion of the necessary procedures, ACT entered the list of registered operators published on the IATA website.
The certification signifies that ACT has fulfilled more than 900 criteria covering the organization and management systems, flight operations management, operational control and dispatch, engineering and maintenance, ground operations, cargo and security.
